SANDOWN RE-OPENED AS THE ISLE OF WIGHT AIRPORT
The owners of Sandown Airport refurbished the grass runways and
reopened the airfield, with one 1200 yard and one 850 yard runway.
The main users were the Isle of Wight Flying Club, resurrected
after the wartime layoff, and a few private owners. A Rapide of
Bees Flight was used for pleasure flights. |
