A ‘HEAVIER THAN AIR’ MACHINE LANDS
One of the first Aviation Meetings to be held in Britain took
place at Bournemouth and Dorset, between the 16th of July. The
pilot of one of the increasingly popular Farman biplanes, Mr Robert
Lorraine took off from Bournemouth Meeting site on the last day
of the Event, and flew out over the sea in very gusty and wet
weather towards the east, and flew into a rainstorm , becoming
disorientated. |
